In an attempt to liven up the 2022 National Poppy Campaign, the Royal Canadian Legion will be taking up new initiatives such as implementing new digital engagement strategies and using environmentally friendly materials for the poppies.
The campaign was launched back on Friday and will go until Remembrance Day.
Organizers for the campaign have said that they have hope that the new features will inspire Canadians to revitalize their desire to pay tribute to past and present veterans.
While traditional poppy boxes have scaled back this year, the legion will be putting out new features like bio-degradable poppies as well as Poppy Stories, which are lapels poppies that can be scanned with a phone to give real info regarding Canadian veterans.
Donations can be made online at mypoppy.ca and at boxes that accept tap payments from cards and other devices in addition to the traditional boxes.
