Starting on November 13th, the BC Liberal Party will start its members only vote to determine a potential new name for the party.
Namely, the vote will be to decide if the members would like to change the party name to BC United.
The vote will take place online starting on November 13th and go until the 15th, with the results being made public the day after it concludes.
The reason the party might be changing its name is because it was decided upon after a June convention resolution where a majority of delegates voted in favour of getting a new name.
And after taking in 2,000 suggestions, the name BC United was the one that was favored among many members of the party from every region.
If the vote to change the name wins, then a constitutional ratification process for the new name as part of a delegated convention will take place in 2023.
