According to some recent reports, the group opposing the construction of the Coastal Gaslink Pipeline, known as the Gidimt’en Checkpoint, has put out a call to action asking their supporters to help them take action.
And by take action, they mean that they want people to protest with them in many different places all throughout Canada, including in BC, as part of their movement that is being called the Kill the Drill allied mobilization.
The main reason these protests are taking place is because Coastal Gaslink has begun to start drilling under the Wedzin Kwa river, which is considered scared to the Wet’suwet’en.
The call was reportedly put out in a video which saw appearances by Wet’suweten hereditary chiefs Na’Moks and Woos as well as the checkpoint’s leader Sleydo.
These protests are expected to take place throughout tomorrow and some of the places in BC expecting to see protesters include Daajing Giids, Vancouver and even potentially the RBC offices in Terrace and Smithers.
The RBC is also being targeted by the movement due to the fact that they are helping fund the project.
