According to a recent report, the Terrace Rotary Club’s TV and online auction was considered a success.
Chair of the auction Brian Downie has stated that the preliminary results of the two-day event show $44,647 generated in bids on nearly 400 items donated by area businesses and agencies.
In addition to the money that was raised through the bids, $2,850 was also donated in cash.
The money from this auction is meant to go into the rotary club’s project account, which is used to support various projects and groups in the Terrace area.
One of the more recent rotary club project donations saw $10,000 sent to the R.E.M Lee hospital foundation to help buy a surgical hand tray for Terrace’s plastic surgeon.
$2,500 was also donated to the parkside secondary school’s wellness program and $2,000 was sent to the Terrace church’s food bank.
