Up to $33 million in provincial funding is being made available to help remote and rural communities strengthen and diversify their economies.
Through the new Rural Economic Diversification and Infrastructure Program, the province aims to help forestry-dependent communities find new economic opportunities.
It also aims to support resilience, clean-growth opportunities, and infrastructure while working shoulder-to-shoulder with local and First Nations governments.
Projects in forest-dependent communities which support economic diversification can apply for up to $500,000 in funding.
Up to $1 million is available to plan and implement programs and services, or build innovative infrastructure in communities of under 25,000 people.
Projects which build economic capacity and support development in communities of under 2,500 residents can apply for up to $100,000.
