It was announced earlier today that the Prince Rupert Port Authority will enter a terminal operating agreement with Global Ports Holding Plc.
This agreement will allow the Authority to operate Northland Cruise Terminal and manage the shore excursion program as well as oversee all cruise scheduling and passenger services at Prince Rupert’s Port.
As for the city of Prince Rupert, this agreement will allow the city to further position itself as a cruise destination amid the growth of cruise tourism on Canada’s west coast and within the Alaskan cruise theatre.
GPH was chosen as the partner for the agreement since they were uniquely positioned to transfer best practices to future Rupert operations, focusing on operational excellence and exceptional shore-excursion development.
The agreement will last for 10 years and will see GPH assume cruise-related operations such as managing the local, integrated cruise passenger shore excursion program and the cruise schedule starting in 2023.
