Prince Rupert RCMP say the suspect of a fatal shooting at the Ocean Centre Mall from yesterday has passed away in hospital.
Officers had public access to the mall blocked off all day, after being called out for reports of shots fired at around 8:30 in the morning.
Once on scene, they discovered the already deceased body of 52 year-old Patty Forman, and a critically injured 44 year-old man.
He was later identified as Canada Border Services Agency employee Shawn Yeung, who would later succumb to his wounds in hospital.
Police believe Yeung fatally shot Forman, before turning the gun on himself to take his own life.
An investigation is on-going, and those with information are asked to contact RCMP at 250 624 2136.

He was transported to hospital where he would eventually succumb to his injuries.
Police say the incident was not an active shooting situation, but rather an isolated incident between two individuals known to each other.
They believe the man fatally shot the woman, before turning the gun on himself to take his own life.
No names are being released at this time, and an investigation is on-going, with those with information asked to contact RCMP at 250 624 2136.
