Changes to the province’s immigration program will help connect business owners in rural BC with skilled international workers.
Newly introduced incentives to the BC Provincial Nominee Program will compensate skilled immigrants for settling outside Metro Vancouver.
Higher priority and program access will now be given to candidates offered a qualifying job outside Metro Vancouver, those with one year of work experience outside Metro Vancouver, or recent graduates of a post-secondary institution outside Metro Vancouver.
According to the province, the changes will help fill much needed jobs in high-priority sectors, based on regional needs.
