Two break and enter suspects were quickly apprehended in Charlie Lake yesterday after getting their truck stuck while trying to flee from police.
Fort St John RCMP were alerted to the break-in at around 3:40 in the morning, after the suspects triggered an alarm at the site.
Officers arrived at the enclosed compressor compound on time to witness the suspects attempt to flee by ramming their truck through one of the gates.
But, shortly after doing so, the truck got stuck in a wooded area, prompting the pair of suspects to flee on foot.
Both suspects, who have a history of crime across northern Alberta and BC, were caught and arrested a short time later.
Further investigation also revealed that the truck they had been driving, a Dodge Ram 3500, had been stolen from Beaverlodge, and contained more stolen goods.
Both suspects were arrested, with one being released with a court date, while the other was held in custody as the investigation continues.
