Youth living with substance-use challenges will have better access to supports, thanks to a suite of new provincial programs.
33 new and improved substance use programs are being added across all 5 of BC’s Health Authorities.
Those programs will give youth access to: community-based prevention and early intervention services, crisis intervention, intensive treatment, wrap-around services, and more.
To fill the new programs, the province is bringing on 130 new health care workers, from therapists to social workers, to outreach workers, to work specifically with youth.
