Frigid forecasts for the rest of the week have Environment Canada warning residents of northern BC to bundle up.
An arctic outflow warning which had been covering inland sections of the North and Central Coasts has now been expanded to cover Coastal sections as well.
Temperatures in Terrace, Kitimat, Prince Rupert, Bella Coola and the surrounding areas are expected to drop in to the -20s after windchill.
Those in the Peace Region and further Northeast could see temperatures as low as -40 persisting into the weekend.
At temperatures of -20 degrees, frostbite can set in on exposed skin in fewer than 15 minutes, and the risks of hypothermia are significantly elevated.
