Two organizations which seek to end gender-based violence against Indigenous women have received a fresh funding boost.
Ottawa is investing up to $1.1 million into the Native Courtworker and Counselling Association of BC, and the Women’s Studies Online program.
Services offered by the NCCABC ensure Indigenous people in the criminal justice system have access to fair, just, and culturally sensitive justice.
Women’s Studies Online seeks to decolonize feminist research, education, and action through community learning events and courses.
According to the Government, the funding will help address the root causes of gender-based violence, and help Indigenous women prosper.
It’s just one of several investments the Government is making to mark the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence Campaign.
