Parents in three northern communities are getting access to the province’s $10 per day child care program.
That program reduces the average cost of full time, centre-based, child care from $1,000 per month to $200 for the same service.
A total of 52 new spaces are being added at the Treehouse Association’s Ark Playday Centre in Telkwa, covering 2.5 year olds to school-aged kids.
Tumbler Ridge’s YMCA Care and Learning Centre will get 41 new spaces for those aged 2.5 through to preschool aged children.
And Prince George’s Montessori Education Society will see a total of 56 spaces added at their Early Learning and Child Learning Centres.
With today’s additions, the province has added more than 2,400 spaces this year, bringing the total to 10,500, province-wide.
