An on-going avian influenza outbreak has the province hosting a virtual information session for small-flock poultry owners.
Led by government veterinary specialists, the session will focus on how owners can protect their flocks, and prepare if birds become sick.
Attendees will learn how to: improve biosecurity to reinforce against disease, recognize and report avian flu symptoms, manage expectations if a flock tests positive.
There is no charge to attend the session, which will take place tonight beginning at 5:30, but those interested in attending must register, which you can do via this link.
Since mid-April, more than 60 cases of avian flu have been reported in BC, with more than 30 coming since November 16th.
