With emergency rooms across BC at their limits, the province is urging parents to get their children their flu shots, before the holidays.
As most are painfully aware, there are currently multiple respiratory viruses circulating, including the flu, Covid, and RSV, which disproportionately impacts children.
In addition, with Covid measures limiting exposure to influenza for two years, it is especially important to ensure young children are protected.
Officials hope that by doing so, some pressure on hospital emergency rooms, already experiencing wait times of up to 10 hours, will be relieved.
You can book influenza immunization appointments through the province’s Get Vaccinated Website, or by calling 1 833 838 2323.
