Stikine MLA Nathan Cullen remains the north’s only representation on Premier David Eby’s newly announced cabinet.
Cullen will take over for Josie Osborne as Minister of Land, Water and Resource Stewardship, leaving his position as Municipal Affairs Minister.
Osborne, meanwhile, will become the next Minister of Energy, Mines and Low Carbon Innovation, while Anne Kang takes Cullen’s old spot.
Ex-Jobs Minister Ravi Kahlon will lead the newly created stand-alone Housing Ministry, as well as becoming Government House Leader.
Former Infrastructure Minister Bowinn Ma will take on the other new protfolio, the Ministry of Emergency Management and Climate Readiness.
In an unexpected move, Eby named Nikie Sharma, a former parliamentary secretary, as his replacement as Attorney General.
Mike Farnworth will stay on as Public Safety Minister and Solicitor General, as well as taking the role of Deputy Premier.
In total, Eby’s first cabinet is made up of 23 Ministers and 4 Ministers of State, supported by 14 parliamentary secretaries.
