Northern Health’s case against a Prince George nightclub, issued multiple Covid health violations earlier this year, appears to be crumbling.
In late January, the health authority issued their first order to Lambda Cabaret, requesting them to close due to public health orders.
In February, after being fined for ignoring that order, the club posted videos to Facebook showing unmasked patrons dancing and flaunting health orders.
While the authority’s case appeared to be tight, the judge presiding over the case last month said it was actually full of holes.
Justice Brent Adair’s first issue came after he asked what a social media post was, before asking how they were sure the account wasn’t hacked.
Adair also dismissed accusations of serving unvaccinated patrons, due to lack of solid evidence and adequate reporting by the Crown.
Other tickets were thrown out for hearsay and other various reasons in a case Adair says had more holes than substance.
