Impaired drivers have kept RCMP detachments across the north busy over the past few weeks, and Prince Rupert is no different.
Just before 4:00 Saturday afternoon, RCMP were called out to the 1400 block of 7th Avenue East, after a driver struck a parked car.
Once on-scene, officers determined that the driver was not suffering from serious injuries, but was showing signs of impairment.
After refusing medical attention, the driver was arrested and brought back to the detachment.
There, he would provide a breath sample revealing his blood alcohol content to be more than 3 times the legal limit.
Charges are being recommended to the Crown, and RCMP are reminding residents that alcohol and cars don’t mix.
