It’s looking like another day of frigid cold temperatures in the North, with Environment Canada maintaining a number of advisories.
Coastal and inland sections of both the North and Central Coasts remain under an arctic outflow warning, accompanied by bitter winds.
Temperatures in Terrace, Kitimat, Prince Rupert, Bella Coola, and the surrounding areas will feel as low as -25 after windchill.
But that’s actually a spurt of luck when compared to forecasts for the North Cariboo, Bulkley Valley, Peace Region, Dease Lake, and Northeastern portions of the province.
With an extreme cold warning in place, temperatures in those areas could dip well into the -40s, after windchill.
It takes less than 10 minutes for exposed human skin to catch frostbite at temperatures under -20, with hypothermia risks also dangerously high.
