Prince Rupert remains under a local state of emergency, as the City continues to deal with three active water main breaks.
Ruptures on Crestview Drive, 7th Avenue East, and 1st Avenue East have resulted in 8 active water service leaks on the City-side, and 4 on the homeowner side.
There are now three contractors and two sub contractors working alongside City crews around the clock to repair the leaks, with additional resources from Port Edward.
Residents are asked to run their taps at a slow drip to prevent freezing and avoid calling the City unless it is an emergency.
It is also recommended to keep 4 Litres of water per resident in your household in case of emergency, which can be safely drawn from your taps.
There is no water quality advisory in place, and City staff are advising residents of possible traffic disruptions in impacted areas.
If you notice significantly reduced water pressure, but find no signs of a break in your home, contact the City at 250 624 6795, or at 250 624 3000 after hours.
