Environment Canada has now added a snowfall warning to the laundry list of winter weather alerts currently impacting the North.
Inland sections of the Northcoast, such as Terrace, Kitimat, and Stewart, can expect up to 20 cm of snow today, and as much as 35 cm tomorrow.
Coastal sections of both the North and Central Coasts, such as Prince Rupert and Haida Gwaii, are looking for up to 15 cm of snow today, with risks of freezing rain.
That’s in addition to an arctic outflow warning, which will see temperatures dip below -20 after windchill in both coastal and inland areas.
Up to 15 cm of snow is also anticipated to fall on the Bulkley Valley and North Cariboo.
Extreme cold warnings remain in place in the Peace Region, Northeast, and Lower Post, with temperatures dipping below -40 after windchill.
