Homeowners in the North will be able to apply for up to $1,045 in residential property tax relief funding in 2023.
This year, BC’s Home Owner Grant will cover approximately 92 percent of residential properties in the province.
In Northern and rural areas outside Metro Vancouver, the Fraser Valley, and Capital Region, the basic grant amount is $770.
For homeowners aged 65 or older, veterans, and those with disabilities, the basic amount increases to a smuch as $1,045.
Anyone who’s property is valued below this year’s threshold of $2,125,000 on their property assessment is eligible to receive the full basic amount.
After that, funding is reduced by $5 for every $1,000 over the threshold.
