Every year, Northern Health closely monitors the delivery rooms for new years babies.
Jan 1 2023 welcomed 4 babies in the north, after British Columbia saw 37,801 babies born last year according to the Vital Statistics Agency.
The preliminary data also predicts that Noah, Olivia, Oliver, and Liam will be among the top 10 popular baby names for 2023.
Abbotsford welcomed Gabriella, the province’s first baby of 2023 just 2 minutes after midnight.
In the north Baby Paxton entered the world first in Prince George at 12:45 AM to parents Chelsea and Dave.
Followed by Baby Tyrell in Dawson Creek to Lisa and Jay at 1:10, Marena and Mathias welcomed Little Marilyn in Fort St. John at 8:06, and finally, Baby Kim in Terrace was born to Bella and Chan.
Northern Health congratulates all the parents celebrating their new bundles of joy.
