City of Terrace’s Chief Administrative Officer Kris Boland talked about some of his highlights of 2022 and the changes the city has seen.
Boland highlighted one of his favourite moments in a council meeting, recounted the meeting with the Union of B.C. Municipalities that led to provincial change, and talked about working with the new council and mayor.
At the time of the interview, Boland had just celebrated his two years as CAO. Boland said that starting a new position at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic offered challenges when it came to getting to know his staff and getting into the swing of things.
With COVID-19 restrictions loosened up, Boland talked about getting to participate in a kid’s Christmas party where city staff members’ children watch a movie and meet Santa.
“Everyone got to watch a movie and that was super cool, we had a really good turnout, I think over 100 people came,” Boland said
“People are really excited to get back to some of the stuff that we used to really take for granted when it comes to small social events,” he added.
