Families in three Northern communities will benefit from the newest expansions to the province’s $10-a-day child care program.
That program reduces the average cost of full-time, centre-based child care by an average of $800 a month, per child.
Today, the province introduced 1,375 new spaces to the program, inching closer to their goal of adding 12,500 new spaces by next month.
In the North, the Prince Rupert Options for Social Growth Society will see 16 spaces added for infants and toddlers, and 16 for kids between 2.5 years old and kindergarten age.
McBride residents will have access to 10 new pre-school spaces at the Robson Valley Community Services Society.
And the Saulteau First Nation-led Cree-active Wonders Daycare will get 8 infant-toddler spaces, and 16 spaces for 2.5 to kindergarten aged kids.
