Skeena-Bulkley Valley MP Taylor Bachrach has penned a letter requesting an urgent meeting of the Standing Committee on Transportation.
His letter comes after hundreds of Canadian passengers were stranded at airports and train stations over the holidays.
While those delays were prompted by extreme weather conditions, passengers were also subject to poor customer service and communication.
Those issues only add to a backlog of over 30,000 complaints received by the Canadian Transportation Agency since the beginning of the pandemic.
Last week, Transportation Minister Omar Alghabra called the situation unacceptable, but Bachrach says words are not enough to protect Canadians.
He is calling for an urgent meeting of all members of the Committee, including a two-hour appearance by Alghabra to discuss the troubling treatment of passengers.
