City staff have completed a clean-up of a temporary homeless encampment in Terrace, in an effort to address safety concerns.
Last Wednesday, Bylaw Officers teamed up with multiple partner agencies to conduct the clean-up at the old Co-Op property.
According to the City, the site had been vacant for three weeks, and the recent warm spell allowed them access to remove previously frozen items.
Local outreach workers helped to ensure recovered personal belongings were retained to be returned to inhabitants of the camp.
City staff say they are continuing to work with local, provincial, and federal partners on safe options to house and care for the City’s homeless population.
