Next week, the Williams Lake First Nation will reveal the most recent findings of their geophysical investigation at the site of the former St Joseph’s Mission Residential School.
But that stage covered just 14 of the 480 hectares being probed in the investigation.
As the second phase wraps-up, the Nation is set to reveal its preliminary findings in a public announcement next Wednesday.
That announcement is anticipated to start at around 1:00 in the afternoon, and will take place at the Nation’s office at 2561 Quilgi Drive.
Prior to the announcement, the Nation will conduct a closed meeting with Chiefs from communities directly impacted by the school’s operations.
A sacred fire will be lit at the Elizabeth Grouse Gymnasium following the announcement, and will remain lit through 4:00 in the afternoon on January 28th.
