Residents of six remote Cariboo communities now be able to access highspeed internet services.
More than 1,300 households will benefit from newly completed infrastructure in 150 Mile House, Likely, Hydraulic, Miocene, Bridge Lake, and Dugan Lake.
That will allow residents to access broadband internet with download speeds of over 50 megabits per second, and upload speeds of 10 megabits per second.
Approximate costs of the project totaled $5.9 million, with up to $1.69 million coming from each of the Provincial and Federal Governments, with Telus providing the remainder.
BC will also provide $1.3 million towards a new $2.1 million project to connect 300 more households in Sheridan Lake.
