BC’s new K-12 Anti-Racism Action Plan aims to empower students and educators to take action against racism and discrimination in their schools.
Introduced today, the plan was developed over the past 3 years with input from students, educators, Indigenous partners, community organizations, and more.
Under the agreement, the Ministry will provide training opportunities for all school staff, which help them understand their role in eliminating racism from schools.
It also establishes new incident response guidelines for both staff and students to safely report and recognize acts of racism.
Students and families will now also have access to more anti-racism resources through the province’s Erase website.
