Renovations to the former Raffles Inn in Prince Rupert have now wrapped up, transforming it into the Crane’s Crossing supportive housing facility.
Located at 1080 3rd Avenue, the repurposed building will provide 46 units of permanent supportive housing for those at risk of or experiencing homelessness.
Those units are in addition to the 35 temporary shelter spaces offered at the same location, which opened up last year.
Staff from the North Coast Transition Society will be on-hand 24/7 to provide security, health and wellness supports, life and employment skills training, and more.
BC Housing provided $14 million to purchase and renovate the building, and will provide an additional $1.2 million in annual operation funding.
