Construction on Coastal GasLink’s 670 km pipeline is nearing the 80 percent completion mark, according to their monthly update.
As of the end of December, the project is now 83 percent complete overall, with pipeline fully installed in two of eight sections.
Those corporations represent the Witset, Wet’suwet’en, Stellat’en, Skin Tyee, and Ts’il Kaz Koh First Nations, and the Nee Tahi Buhn Band.
Section 6 runs from south of Burns Lake to south of Houston, and is the second furthest segment from completion, with 58 percent of pipe installed.
It trails only Section 7, which runs from south of Houston to north of Morice Lake, and now has 40 percent of pipe laid.
But CGL says the took immediate and decisive action to solve those issues, and have implemented a number of protections since.
