Prince Rupert residents may notice some new signs around town featuring the City’s new branding and showcasing the work of local artists.
Installed by Tourism Prince Rupert over the past week, the new signs are part of an extensive rebranding campaign announced last March.
Highway entrance signs have been placed at each main entrance to the City, along with wayfinding signage at popular spots throughout town.
Each of the new signs prominently feature the Sm’algyax language, thanks to a collaboration with the Ts’msyen Sm’algyax Language Authority.
In addition to the City’s new logo, designed by Ts’msyen artist Russell Mather, the signs also feature the work of local artists Chris Fraser, Lucy Trimble, Rod Tasaka, and Kristen McKay.
Will Creative also assisted with creative design, and Innovative Signage and Broadwater Industries helped fabricate and install the signs.
