BC has announced that $6.3 million will be distributed towards firefighting equipment and training.
Distributed through the Community Emergency Preparedness Fund, the funding will be split between 114 recipients.
First Nations, volunteer, and composite fire departments will receive the funding either for new equipment or training of volunteers or staff.
Daajing Giids is getting $29,878.15, and the Bulkley-Nechako regional district is getting $99,582 both for equipment and training upgrades.
100 Mile House will be getting a new sprinkler protection unit for $29,960, and New Hazelton will get gear upgrades for $25,000.
