Welcome to Journeys with Kelly Kenny. Tonight’s feature is a really exciting one to bring to the Northwest BC. We are listening to the band called 1876 who hail from Portland Oregon ! 1876 was born in 2020 and immediately debuted, the EP powwow punk rock! I came across this band on Instagram when Gabe from 1876 duetted snotty nose Rez kids. Since then I’ve been following their amazing pow wow punk rock sound. 1876 proudly represents both northern Cheyenne and Blackfeet nation’s singing in both languages. Gabe had a dream of cultural and language resurgence being heard.
