A public inquest into the death of a Quesnel woman in 2017 is scheduled to begin on May 23rd.
On October 1st of that year, police were called out to a hotel on the 800 block of Front Street for reports of an altercation.
Once on-scene, they would locate 40 year-old Nadine Marcy Solonas, who had been suffering from injuries obtained in the scuffle.
She would decline medical attention, but would later be arrested after officers learned she had been breaching court conditions at the time.
After being released to paramedics the following day, Solonas would be sent to hospital in Vancouver, where she would succumb to her injuries.
Now a public inquest will look to determine the facts related to the death, including how, and by what means it occurred.
They will then make recommendations to prevent future deaths under similar circumstances.
