More than 200 elected First Nations leaders and health care workers will be in Prince George tomorrow to kick off the Northern Addictions Forum.
Hosted by the First Nations Health Authority, the forum looks to address the impacts of addiction and toxic drugs on Northern First Nations communities.
Over the course of the three-day event, attendees will discuss: service gaps for First Nations, land-based healing approaches, ways to reduce stigma, and more.
It will feature a keynote address from Inuit NHL player Jordin Tootoo, and from world-renowned addictions expert Doctor Gabor Maté.
Discussions will get underway at the Prince George Civic Centre each morning at 8:30, following an opening prayer.
