Two individuals were taken to hospital on Sunday after RCMP in Bella Coola happened across the scene of a collision.
Officers had been out on routine patrol when they noticed a Dodge Dart in the ditch along Highway 20, near Snooka Creek Road.
Multiple emergency service agencies were called in to help remove two occupants from the vehicle; a female driver, and a male passenger.
According to police, the passenger had not been wearing a seatbelt and appeared to be suffering from life-threatening injuries.
Both occupants were taken to hospital, and while the driver’s injuries do not appear to be life-threatening, the passenger is reportedly in critical condition.
Police are investigating the cause of the collision, but believe alcohol to be a contributing factor.
