Making his way to Portland Oregon, the Minister of State for Trade Jagrup Brar is on a trade mission to promote the province’s Mass Timber Action Plan.
The seventh annual International Mass Timber Conference see’s the largest gathering of mass-timber experts in the world.
There, Brar will be meeting with industry leaders, investors and government officials in an effort to attract foreign investment in the provinces mass timber industry.
According to the province, mass timber can deliver up to 7 times the economic value compared to milling logs and shows potential for up to 10 more midsized mass timber facilities in BC by 2035.
This comes after President Joe Biden announced policies to ensure American timber is used in federally funded infrastructure in February.
