It’s the end of an era for the George Little House in Terrace, as the City gets set to say goodbye to the attraction’s long-time operator.
Named after the City’s founder and the home’s original owner, the House was purchased by the City in 2005 following a series of moves.
In 2006, the City granted current operator Debbie Letawski the first in a long line of 3-year contracts to operate the building.
Under the contract, Letawski is also required to operate a tourist information centre and service the attached VIA Rail waiting room.
Letawski says she was shocked when the City decided not to renew her contract in January, opting instead to search for a new partner.
Now, the City has selected the owners of the Fix Cyclery and Cafe to take over for Letawski.
She is set to move out this summer, with the new operators moving in in July.
