After 12 years with the Department, Terrace Fire Chief John Klie is set to retire this summer.
Prior to taking on his role in Terrace, Klie had served as a member of Kitimat Fire and Rescue for over three decades.
Klie is now slated to leave the position on June 16th, with the City actively searching for a replacement.
Those interested in filling Klie’s shoes can find a job posting listed by the City at this link.
Successful applicants would also be responsible for coordinating the City’s various emergency programs.
In recent years, the department has seen a steady increase in overall calls, and a massive jump in the number of medical calls, and calls to assist other first responders.
