It seems that most of Northern BC’s MLAs have somehow managed to draw the ire of the Russian Government.
In response to economic sanctions introduced by Canada, Russia introduced their own personal sanctions against 333 Canadians yesterday.
Among those added to the list were Northcoast MLA Jennifer Rice, Skeena MLA Ellis Ross, and Stikine MLA Nathan Cullen.
Countless other BC politicians, both federal and provincial, were also included on the permanent “black-list”, essentially banning them from ever entering the country.
It also includes activists, and Olympians who endorsed the removal of Russia from the 2024 games.
Russia says the measure is intended to encourage those added to the list to “change their behaviour”.
