Starting today, the Crest Hotel in Prince Rupert is under new ownership.
Gitxaala Enterprises Corporation has aquired the 62 year old business, with their possession taking over today.
Gitxaala Nation Chief Councillor Lou Ga Gwelks says that the aquisition helps the nation take another step in creating long-term wealth and opportunities.
Micheal Uehara, CEO of the corporation says that they acknowledge the success of staff and management and there are no plans to change the operational structure of the hotel.
Steve and Tina Smith, previous owners of the family business, say that they’re happy with the transition and are confident that the level of hospitality will continue under new ownership.
