A man who opened fire on the Vanderhoof RCMP detachment in 2021 has pleaded not guilty to all nine charges against him.
That came after a man had pulled up to the detachment in a white pick-up around noon, and began firing on different sections of the building.
Police were forced to move civilian employees to the holding cells for safety during the barrage, as many bullets penetrated the interior.
After a short chase, police arrested Paul Nicholas Russell on numerous charges, including attempted murder of a police officer with a weapon.
His trial began in the BC Supreme Court yesterday, with Russell pleading not guilty to all counts, as the Crown attempts to prove his intentions.
