Remediation work on the persistent McConnell Crescent landslide in Terrace has now wrapped up.
Issues in the area stem from a 2017 landslide on the Kitsumkalum Escarpment, which led to severe bank erosion in the years since.
That has, in turn, resulted in an increase in both the frequency and severity of slides in the area.
Last July, the City was forced to declare a local state of emergency to evacuate a single McConnell property.
When that order was lifted, the owners refused to return over safety concerns, ultimately filing a lawsuit against the City.
In September, Emergency Management BC granted the City $2.5 million to go towards remediation work at the site.
Those efforts saw them take rock from other sites, such as the Kitsumkalum Quarry, to fill in eroded sections of the escarpment.
Crews from McElhanney will remain on site over the next three months to conduct environmental monitoring.
