Upgrades are on the way for the North Coast Recycling Depot in Prince Rupert, thanks to a joint investment from Victoria and Ottawa.
That funding will go towards structural, electrical, and lighting upgrades to increase material processing efficiency and capacity.
It will also fund the purchase and installation of two new balers, and the construction of a new elevated loading block.
All-in-all, the upgrades are expected to increase capacity at the depot by approximately 1,200 tonnes annually.
A total of $1.5 million is being invested in the project, split between the Province, Federal Government, and North Coast Regional District.
