New artwork at the Acropolis Manor long-term care home in Prince Rupert will brighten up the facility, while making it easier to navigate.
A $15,000 investment from the Prince Rupert Port Authority helped to complete the Neighbourhood Wrap and Door Project at the Manor.
That project saw residents choose their own custom vinyl door wraps to cover the entrances to their respective rooms.
Staff also helped to select unique artwork to fill the facility’s common areas, transforming it from its previous clinical experience.
In addition to livening up the atmosphere, the artwork will also make the halls easier to navigate, particularly for residents with dimentia.
All of that work is just one part of Northern Health’s DementiAbility project, which seeks to make the manor brighter, homier, and safer.
