UPDATE: Skeena and Bulkley Rivers No Longer Under Alerts From River Forecast Centre
The Skeena and Bulkley rivers are no longer under any alerts from the River Forecast Centre.
But, local states of emergency remain in place for the City of Terrace and Areas B and C of the Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine.
Now, the evacuation orders in place for Old and New Remo have been rescinded.
However, an alert remains in place for the area of Old Remo from the intersection of Whitebottom and south to the Old Remo and Robin road intersection.
Orders have also been downgraded to an alert for parts of New Remo, and alerts remain in place for Usk, Braun’s Island, and Ferry Island.
Alerts are not a call to evacuate, and while they remain in place, an order could be reissued, so residents are advised to return home as soon as possible and secure their property.
The Hazard notice issued by the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako for the Bulkley River has also been rescinded.
High streamflow advisories are also covering the Nass, Stikine, and Liard Rivers and their tributaries, however, the Peace Region has been upgraded to a flood watch.
That covers the Peace River and it’s tributaries around Fort St. John, Taylor, Chetwynd, Moberly Lake, Pine Pass, Hudson’s Hope, and Dawson Creek.
Most of the Interior east of the Fraser River is also covered under high streamflow advisories issued for various rivers and streams.
