It’s shaping up to be a busy year for the Tahltan Nation Development Corporation, as they kick off a new work season at the Red Chris mine.
This year’s work will see the TNDC take over as General Contractor for the project’s Tailing’s Impact Area Dam Expansion Program.
According to the corporation, the expanded scope of services shows the confidence that Newcrest, the mine’s majority owner, has in their work.
It’s evidence that the TNDC’s efforts over the past year to align their business practices with those of a Tier 1 mining company are paying off.
They’ll also be trusted with managing and executing heavy construction and earthworks projects, as well as several capital projects at the mine.
Other efforts will see them continue to support upgrades at the Dease Lake Airport, as well as construction of a new road at Galore Creek.
