RCMP have discovered the remains of Madison Scott, exactly 12 years after she went missing and just hours after renewing calls for information.
Scott was last seen celebrating a friend’s birthday at Hogsback Lake, at around 3:00 in the morning on May 28th, 2011.
She was reported missing to RCMP in Vanderhoof the following day, and has been the subject of multiple search efforts in the years since.
This morning, one day after re-issuing a request for information, police uncovered Scott’s body at a rural property on the east side of Vanderhoof.
Additional resources were called in and the area was secured, with officers now conducting a search warrant at the property.
An investigation is on-going and anyone with information is asked to contact the RCMP tipline at 778 290 5291.
Police say family members have been notified, and are requesting privacy at this time.
